How to integrate graphic images in your stage work? Can the images become the source for the material created on stage?

The workshop is guided together with the dancer-choreographer Sandrina Lindgren. In this workshop we will use elements from contemporary puppetry and dance and adapt them into a series of exercises, concluding with short études. The exercises contain some guiding lines in the work of puppetry and dance but they do not require from the practitioners a former experience in these art fields. We use traffic signs as central creative tool throughout our work and simple, common materials. We work around these themes:

-creating characters from graphic images

-graphic images as a source for movement material

-working with and against body actions with graphic images

-graphic images as a tool for storytelling
